For dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs, day care is ideal.  For some dogs it is not enough for someone just to pop in briefly during the day to see to their needs, they need company all day which The Dog Hitch can provide (& it can work out cheaper than a dog walker too!).  Your dog can be cared for in my home whenever you need help - just for the odd day or every day while you are at work.  Just give me your requirements and you can stop worrying about whether your dog is lonely or unhappy.

Just drop your dog off on your way to work, anytime after 7.30 am (please pre-book your times) & your dog will tired, happy & ready to go home when you finish work.  

Depending on the size of the group of dogs,  your dog will be walked on lead to the local woods or taken by car to other exciting dog walking spots. As I exercise the dogs for an hour at a time, I'm afraid I am unable to take dogs who cannot cope with this much exercise, particularly puppies. Once at the woods your dog can have his/her walk on or off lead whichever you prefer. Dogs must have a reasonable recall & must be happy to stick fairly closely with me & the other dogs so that I can keep an eye on them at all times or they will not be let off the lead. All dogs wear a tag (see dog law) bearing my address and mobile phone number. 

When the dogs aren't out on a walk, they have the options of playing or sleeping. I provide  fleeces for resting on (you are welcome to bring your dog's own bed) & toys for them to play with . They also have the use of the secure garden when the weather is good enough.

All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations including the  kennel cough  vaccine. Your vet will advise you about any vaccines needed & how soon to have them before your dog's intended stay.   Please remember to bring your dog's certificate when he/she comes to stay for the first time.

Rates: £12 per day per dog for approx 10 hours (regular Monday to Friday bookings £55 per week)

•  I am not able to take boisterous, uncontrollable dogs
• I am no longer able to take boxers, staffies & husky-type breeds 
• I am unable to take  dogs under 12 months old  
• All dogs/bitches must be neutered.
• All dogs must be friendly & non-aggressive & walk reasonably well on the lead

Drop off & pick up between 7.30 am & 7.30 pm strictly by prior arrangement. Other times may be available on an occasional basis, please ask.
